Frequently Asked Questions

Does the kit need batteries or an external power pack?
No. A built-in variable DC supply giving 0 to 12 V runs from a standard 220–240 V AC, 50 Hz mains socket, so no batteries or separate power pack are needed.

Are the meters protected against wiring mistakes?
The supply is short-circuit-proof and has electronic current-limiting fuses for wiring errors. Students should still start at zero volts and choose the higher meter range first when unsure of the current.

Can students test their own resistors?
