Electrical Lamp Load Bank 2.5 kW
Product Code : SCL-EAE-12044
Electrical Lamp Load Bank 2.5 kW (SKU SCL-EAE-12044) is a switchable resistive load made from ten lamps, so students can see the load rise as each lamp lights while they test generators, transformers and power circuits up to 2.5 kW. It is aimed at engineering students and instructors in teaching and testing laboratories. Production takes place at the Science Lab Supplies factory, Plot 448, HSIIDC Industrial Area, Saha, Ambala, India, which manufactures the bank and supplies colleges, institutes, contractors and distributors directly.
Specifications
Each specification is listed in the table below. In short, ten pre-installed incandescent or halogen lamps on parallel, individually fused branches are switched by ten toggle switches inside a ventilated, powder-coated steel case, giving a visible resistive load of up to 2.5 kW on a 220–240 V single-phase supply.

Applications and Experiments for the Lamp Load Bank
The bank loads a single-phase source in visible steps, so the link between current drawn and lamp brightness is obvious while students record voltage and current. It fits electrical machines and power practicals in diploma, B.Tech and vocational electrical courses, and also clear demonstrations of resistive loading for physics instruction.
- Alternator characteristics: adding lamp steps to measure the voltage drop of a small machine, with current read on an Analog Ampere Meter Panel Mount.
- Transformer tests: loading a secondary winding progressively to find regulation, for example on the Transformer Trainer.
- Ohm's law under load: current rising with each lamp at a fixed supply voltage.
Lamps and the top grille get very hot and can burn, so keep hands clear during and after a test.
Standard Scope of Supply
Each bank comes with its ten loading lamps already fitted, four high-current insulated patch cords with 4 mm safety banana plugs and an English instruction guide with experiment setups. The AC source under test and any panel meters are separate items that can be quoted with it.
Packing, MOQ and Lead Time
Quotations can be prepared for a single lamp bank or for one per bench in a machines laboratory. Each states the packing, delivery time and price for the quantity concerned, and as a physics instruments supplier in India Science Lab Supplies can include meters or transformers on the same quote.
Holding an Importer-Exporter Code, Science Lab Supplies is able to ship to buyers in Nepal, Bangladesh, Zambia, Rwanda, South Africa and Qatar. The business is registered under Udyam as a manufacturing enterprise (UDYAM-HR-01-0014546) and for GST (GSTIN 06ADEPJ0574F2ZU). Frequently Asked Questions
What happens if one lamp fails during a test?
The other lamps keep working, because each lamp sits on its own parallel branch with a separate fuse. Only the failed branch drops out, so the test can continue at a lower load.
How much current does the bank draw at full load?
With all ten lamps switched on at 240 V AC, the bank draws approximately 10.4 A for its full 2.5 kW, so the source and leads should be rated accordingly.
How are the lamps replaced?
Disconnect the mains and let the bank cool completely, then fit a lamp of identical voltage and wattage in the standard screw-type socket. Clean the case with a dry cloth only.
Does Science Lab Supplies manufacture the lamp load bank?
Yes. The bank is a factory product of Science Lab Supplies, a laboratory equipment manufacturer in India, built in Saha, Ambala, India, and buyers receive their quotation directly from that manufacturing unit.
