Applications and Experiments for the Dimension Saw
The dimension saw is the main sizing machine in a furniture or cabinet-making shop. The long sliding table carries full boards past the blade, so trainees in ITI carpentry and furniture trades, TVET joinery modules and polytechnic workshops can learn square, repeatable cuts on panels and solid timber.
- Cross-cutting and ripping panels to a cutting list, compared with hand cuts from the Portable Circular Saw.
- Chip-free cuts on laminated board using the scoring blade, before edges are profiled with the Electric Router.
- Bevel cuts with the blade tilted up to 45 degrees.
- Teaching blade height setting, fence use and guarding on a panel saw.
This is a powered saw with an exposed blade: use it only under an instructor, with the overhead guard fitted, push sticks for narrow pieces and dust extraction running.
Standard Scope of Supply
The Dimension Saw Machine is supplied as a single unit with the sliding table, cross-cut fence, saw carriage, main and scoring saw drives and overhead guard described above. Spare blades, a dust collector and other optional accessories are listed on the quotation if requested.
Packing, MOQ and Lead Time
A quotation can be prepared for one saw or for several machines in a new furniture workshop. It will state the packing, delivery time and price for your quantity, and other TVET workshop equipment such as planers and dust collectors can be added to the same document.
As a registered exporter with an Importer-Exporter Code, Science Lab Supplies can ship to buyers in Oman, the Philippines, Nepal, Bangladesh, Zambia and Rwanda. Use the contact page or enquiry cart, and see the lab tender page for institutional orders.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does the scoring blade do?
The small 120 mm scoring blade runs ahead of the main blade and cuts a shallow groove in the underside of the panel, so laminated or veneered boards do not chip as the main 300 mm blade passes through.
How wide can the machine rip?
The distance between saw blade and rip fence is 1250 mm, and the sliding table is 3000 mm long, so full-size sheets can be broken down into parts.
Who supplies the Dimension Saw Machine?
Science Lab Supplies supplies this saw from Ambala, India. Training institutes, polytechnics, TVET centres, tender contractors and distributors can have it quoted alone or together with planers, dust collectors and other workshop machines.
What power supply does it need?
The main motor is 3 kW and the scoring motor 1.1 kW. State your mains voltage and phase in the enquiry, and the quotation will confirm the supply for the machine offered.
