Brass Spirit Lamp 100ml

Product Code : SCL-CL-12008

Brass Spirit Lamp 100ml (SKU SCL-CL-12008) is a compact, shatterproof alcohol burner that gives a small, steady open flame for heating and sterilising where no gas line is available. Its solid brass body will not shatter if knocked over, which suits busy student benches. Students, lab technicians and field researchers use it in school science, microbiology and college practicals. Institutions, tender contractors and distributors can obtain it from Science Lab Supplies, which supplies it from Ambala, India.

Specifications

The lamp has a heavy-walled, corrosion-resistant solid brass reservoir holding 100 mL of fuel, a threaded brass wick holder that screws tightly into the neck, a woven cotton wick and a matching brass snuffer cap. A wide, flat base keeps the centre of gravity low on crowded benches.

Applications and Experiments for the Brass Spirit Lamp

The spirit lamp gives gentle, localised heat for short heating tasks in school and college labs and in the field. It is used to sterilise loops and needles, warm liquids in test tubes and run simple flame and expansion demonstrations, making it practical school chemistry lab equipment in India.

• Microbiology practicals: flaming inoculation loops, spreaders and dissecting needles.
• Class 6–10 science: gentle heating of solutions in test tubes and thermal expansion activities.
• Field and environmental science kits: a portable, non-electric heat source.

Alcohol is flammable. Never refill the lamp while it is lit or still hot, never use petrol, kerosene or lighter fluid, and always put the flame out with the snuffer cap rather than blowing on it. Use it under teacher supervision.

Standard Scope of Supply

Each lamp comes with the 100 mL brass body, a matching brass snuffer cap, the threaded brass wick holder core, two replacement woven cotton wicks and a laboratory safety handling instruction guide. Alcohol fuel is not included and is bought locally.

Packing, MOQ and Lead Time

Frequently Asked Questions

What fuel should I use in this lamp?
Use denatured alcohol, industrial methylated spirit or ethanol above 90% concentration. Never use petrol, kerosene or lighter fluid, which give off explosive vapours.

How full should the lamp be filled?
Fill it to a maximum of about 80% of its 100 mL capacity, roughly 80 mL, then screw the wick holder back in and let the wick soak for a few minutes before lighting.

Who supplies the Brass Spirit Lamp 100ml?
Science Lab Supplies is the supplier, sending this lamp from Ambala, India to schools, colleges and tender buyers together with other heating apparatus.

How is the flame put out safely?
Place the brass snuffer cap straight over the burning wick. It cuts off the oxygen and also stops the alcohol evaporating while the lamp is stored.
