Water Level
Product Code : LSK-WT-10553
Water Level (SKU LSK-WT-10553), often called a hose level, is a 20 metre transparent, flexible hose with end armatures that is filled with water to transfer a level from one point to another. Because water settles at the same height at both ends, builders use it to mark floor, sill and ceiling levels around corners and between rooms. The hose level is supplied by Science Lab Supplies from Ambala, India to institutes, contractors and distributors.
Specifications
Every technical detail of the Water Level is listed in the table below. In short, it is a transparent, flexible hose 20 metres long with armatures at the ends; it needs no batteries or optics, as the only working medium is clean water and readings are taken where the water surface shows through the hose.

Applications and Experiments for the Water Level
Construction trainees use the water level to set out level lines for brick courses, floors, window sills, ceilings and formwork, especially where a spirit level is too short or a straight sight line is blocked. It also demonstrates the physics of communicating vessels in a practical, site-based setting.
- Masonry and building-construction trades (TVET, ITI/NSQF): transferring datum levels for brick courses and floor screeds.
- Carpentry and formwork courses: levelling shuttering, frames and ceiling battens, with timber cut on the Construction Site Saw Bench.
- Plumbing and tiling modules: marking consistent heights for fixtures and tile lines, then drilling fixing holes with an Impact Drilling Machine.
- Civil engineering diploma surveying practice: simple level transfer where an optical level is not needed.
Before marking, trainees should remove all air bubbles from the hose and let the water settle; a trapped bubble or a kinked hose gives a false reading.
Standard Scope of Supply
The Water Level is supplied as the 20 metre transparent flexible hose with its armatures, as described in the specification. Water is not included and is added on site; any optional accessories are stated on the quotation.
Packing, MOQ and Lead Time
We can quote one water level or enough for every trainee group in a construction workshop; each quotation states the packing, delivery time and price for that quantity. Other TVET workshop equipment and vocational training equipment can be added so one consignment covers the whole course.
Science Lab Supplies holds an Importer-Exporter Code as a registered exporter and can ship to buyers in Qatar, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Malaysia, Peru and Egypt. Several 20 m water levels for a site-practice class can be priced via the contact page or the enquiry cart, and the lab tender page is open to tender buyers too.
Frequently Asked Questions
How does a water level work?
Water in a connected hose settles at the same height at both ends. Marking the water surface at one end and matching it at the other transfers a level accurately over the 20 m hose length.
How long is the hose?
The transparent hose is 20 metres long and flexible, so it can reach around corners, through doorways and between rooms where a straight sight line is not available.
Who supplies the Water Level?
Science Lab Supplies supplies it from Ambala, India, for vocational institutes, polytechnics, construction contractors and distributors, together with other building tools.
What should trainees check before use?
They should fill the hose with clean water, remove every air bubble, avoid kinks and let the water settle before marking. Coloured water can make the surface easier to see.
Related Setting-Out and Construction Tools
Once levels are marked, trainees go on to cut, lay, pour and fix. These items from the Workshop Tools range are used after setting-out in masonry, concreting and finishing practice, and they can be added to the same quotation as the water level for one delivery.
