Wave Machine
Product Code : LSK-PL-10355
Wave Machine (SKU LSK-PL-10355) is a 480 mm wave demonstrator in which a set of rotating cams raises and lowers 24 vertical rods, so a class can watch both transverse and longitudinal waves form and travel. Physics teachers use it when introducing wave motion in secondary school and revising it in Class 11. It is built by Science Lab Supplies at Plot 448, HSIIDC Industrial Area, Saha, Ambala, India, which deals directly with schools, colleges, tender contractors and distributors.
Specifications
Turning the handle rotates a row of cams that lift and lower 24 vertical rods with highlighted plastic tips. Eight of the rods are turned at 90 degrees to simulate transverse motion, and the handle carries a circular scale marked in degrees of rotation. The machine runs almost silently and needs no lubrication.

Applications and Experiments for the Wave Machine
The machine shows that particles of a medium only oscillate about fixed positions while the wave form moves along. Because students can view it from both sides, it suits whole-class demonstrations in the sound chapter of Class 9 science and the waves chapter of NCERT Class 11 physics.
- Class 9 science (CBSE/NCERT): sound as a longitudinal wave of compressions and rarefactions.
- Class 11 physics: comparing transverse and longitudinal waves, wavelength and amplitude.
- Phase lessons: using the degree scale on the handle to relate rotation angle to the position of each rod.
Standard Scope of Supply
The Wave Machine is supplied as a single unit as described above: the cam assembly with its 24 tipped rods and the handle with its degree scale, 480 mm long. Any optional accessories are listed on the quotation.
Packing, MOQ and Lead Time
You can ask us to quote one wave machine for a demonstration bench or several for a department. The quotation states the packing, delivery time and price for your quantity, and other wave apparatus can be added to it.
With an Importer-Exporter Code on record as a registered exporter, Science Lab Supplies can ship to buyers in Qatar, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Malaysia, Peru and Egypt. Enquiries reach the team through the contact page or the enquiry cart, and the lab tender page explains tender quotations.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can one wave machine show both kinds of wave?
Yes. The 24 rods rise and fall in sequence to show a travelling wave, and eight of them are turned at 90 degrees to simulate transverse motion, so both wave types can be discussed with one apparatus.
Does the machine need oiling or maintenance?
No lubrication is required. The mechanism is strong and almost silent in operation, which helps when the teacher is explaining while turning the handle.
How is the degree scale used?
The circular scale on the handle shows how far the cams have rotated, so students can link the angle of rotation to how far the wave has advanced along the rods.
Is the Wave Machine made by Science Lab Supplies?
It is. Science Lab Supplies manufactures the machine in its Saha, Ambala, India plant and is not a reseller, so buyers receive a quotation straight from the factory.
