Flow Meter Demonstration
Product Code : LSK-HAP-10579
Flow Meter Demonstration (SKU LSK-HAP-10579) is a bench-top accessory that places a venturi meter, a variable area meter and an orifice plate in series so students can compare three common flow meters on the same flow. It is used in fluid mechanics labs of engineering colleges, polytechnics and TVET institutes. Science Lab Supplies is the maker: the unit comes out of its factory at Plot 448, HSIIDC Industrial Area, Saha, Ambala, India, and is quoted directly to colleges, tender contractors and distributors.
Specifications
The meter circuit and an eight-tube manometer bank are fixed to a support frame that stands on the working top of a hydraulics bench. Pressure tappings on each meter connect to the manometer manifold, which has an air bleed valve and a hand pump for pressurising the tubes.

Applications and Experiments for the Flow Meter Demonstration
With all three meters on one line, each reading can be checked against the bench's volumetric tank and against the other meters at the same moment. That makes the unit a compact way to teach flow measurement and head loss in fluid mechanics lab experiments for B.Tech, diploma and TVET courses.
- Direct comparison of flow readings from the venturi meter, variable area meter and orifice plate.
- Calibrating each meter against the volumetric measuring tank of the bench.
- Measuring head loss across each meter and comparing pressure drops.
- Finding discharge coefficients of the venturi and orifice meters.
Standard Scope of Supply
Each unit includes the venturi meter, variable area meter and orifice plate in their series circuit, the flow control valve, the eight-tube manometer bank with manifold and air bleed valve, the hand pump and the support framework. The hydraulics bench that supplies and measures the water is ordered separately.
Packing, MOQ and Lead Time
Send the number of units you need, from one demonstration set to several for group work. Our quotation replies with packing, delivery time and price for that quantity, and a hydraulics bench or other bench accessories can be quoted with it.
As a registered exporter with an Importer-Exporter Code, Science Lab Supplies can ship to buyers in Peru, Egypt, Iraq, Nigeria, Kenya and Ghana. Enquiries are welcome on the contact page or through the enquiry cart, and our lab tender page covers institutional tenders.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which flow meters are included?
Three: a venturi meter, a variable area meter and an orifice plate, installed in series so the same flow passes through each and their readings can be compared directly.
Can it be used without a hydraulics bench?
It is designed to stand on a hydraulics bench, which provides the water supply and the volumetric tank used to calibrate each meter, so a bench is needed for normal use.
Does Science Lab Supplies manufacture it?
Yes. The demonstration unit is manufactured in-house at Saha, Ambala, India, so your enquiry goes to the people who build it rather than to a reseller.
Why is a hand pump fitted?
The hand pump pressurises the manometer manifold so that the water columns sit within the readable range of the tubes during tests.
Related Hydraulics Bench Experiments
Flow measurement leads naturally into friction losses, pipe networks and cavitation, and all of these units run from the same bench. The four items below come from the same range and can be quoted together with the flow meter demonstration.
- Hydraulics Bench — supplies water and volumetric calibration.
- Fluid Friction Measurement — venturi and orifice metering plus pipe losses.
- Pipe Network Apparatus — flow and pressure in pipe arrays.
- Cavitation Demonstration — what happens when venturi throat pressure falls too low.
