Cavitation Demonstration
Product Code : LSK-HAP-10583
Cavitation Demonstration (SKU LSK-HAP-10583) is a small-scale apparatus that makes cavitation visible: water accelerates through a clear acrylic venturi until throat pressure drops low enough for vapour bubbles to form and collapse. It runs on a hydraulics bench and is used in fluid mechanics and fluid machines courses at engineering colleges, polytechnics and TVET institutes. The apparatus is manufactured by Science Lab Supplies at Saha, Ambala, India (Plot 448, HSIIDC Industrial Area), which quotes buyers such as colleges, contractors and distributors directly.
Specifications
The circular venturi-shaped test section is made of clear acrylic so the cavitation zone can be seen. Three Bourdon gauges show static pressure before the contraction, in the throat and after the expansion, and flow control valves on either side of the section set the conditions.

Applications and Experiments for the Cavitation Demonstration
Students raise the flow until the throat vacuum gauge nears its limit and cavitation appears, then relate the onset to the pressures on the three gauges. The demonstration explains why pumps, valves and propellers suffer cavitation damage, a topic in B.Tech fluid machines and diploma hydraulics syllabuses.
- Observing the onset and collapse of cavitation in a venturi throat.
- Relating throat pressure to flow rate and to the vapour pressure of water.
- Showing how downstream valve setting changes the extent of the cavitating region.
- Supporting pump suction and NPSH discussions in fluid machines and TVET pump maintenance courses.
Standard Scope of Supply
The unit comes with the acrylic venturi test section, the two 63 mm Bourdon gauges and the 100 mm throat vacuum gauge, upstream and downstream flow control valves, and the quick release bench fitting. Educational software is available as an option, and the hydraulics bench is a separate item.
Packing, MOQ and Lead Time
Request a price for one demonstration unit or for a set to share across lab groups. Each quotation carries the packing, delivery time and price for that number of units, and the optional software or a hydraulics bench can be itemised on it too.
As a registered exporter with an Importer-Exporter Code, Science Lab Supplies can ship to buyers in Kenya, Ghana, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Uganda and the UAE. To enquire, write through our contact page or add products to the enquiry cart; the lab tender page explains tender supply.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does the apparatus need a hydraulics bench?
It is designed to connect to a hydraulics bench by a quick release fitting. For visualisation only, it can also run from a cold mains supply giving 0.4 litre/s at 2 bar gauge.
What pressures are measured?
Static pressure upstream and downstream on 63 mm gauges reading 0 to 1 bar, and throat pressure on a 100 mm vacuum gauge reading −1 to 0 bar.
Is this a Science Lab Supplies product or a bought-in item?
It is made by Science Lab Supplies at its own works in Saha, Ambala, India, so the manufacturer answers your questions and prepares the quotation itself.
Is software included?
Educational software is offered as an option rather than as standard. Mention it and it will be listed separately on the quotation.
