Switched Busbar Module
Product Code : LSK-EPS-10520
Switched Busbar Module (SKU LSK-EPS-10520) is a fully instrumented trainer from the Modular Power Systems range that simulates industrial busbar switching, monitoring and protection on a double busbar and a radial feeder system. It is used in B.Tech/B.E. electrical switchgear and protection labs and for final-year projects. Colleges, institutes, contractors and distributors can order it from Science Lab Supplies, a laboratory equipment supplier in India based in Ambala.
Specifications
The console has two control panels with mimic diagrams. The lower panel carries a double bus (main and standby), each split into two sections, with six bi-directional feeders. The upper panel carries a radial system with one incoming and three outgoing feeders. Current transformers on every bus and feeder allow zone protection.

Applications and Experiments for the Switched Busbar Module
Students transfer load between main and standby buses, apply faults at chosen points and watch the relays isolate them. The module covers bus switching, zone protection, fault recording and switching transients, making it a focused piece of engineering lab equipment for switchgear courses.
- B.Tech switchgear and protection lab: high-impedance differential busbar protection.
- Bus transfer and sectionalising with bus-coupler and section switches.
- Line/line and line/earth faults on double busbar and radial systems.
- Transients when alternating current is interrupted, using the point-on-wave breaker.
The module is mains-powered and fault tests involve high currents; they should run only under qualified supervision.
Standard Scope of Supply
Supplied with the module are the relay software, a set of shrouded leads and a user guide with equipment descriptions, theory and experiments. Not included: a computer for relay programming, the additional protection relay for the spare socket, and external loads for the test points.
Packing, MOQ and Lead Time
Request a quotation for a single module or for a full Modular Power Systems laboratory. It will list packing, delivery time and price for the chosen quantity, and supply and load modules from the same range can be included.
Using its Importer-Exporter Code, Science Lab Supplies can ship to buyers in Tanzania, Uganda, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman and the Philippines. Science Lab Supplies is registered for GST (GSTIN 06ADEPJ0574F2ZU). Send questions via the contact page, shortlist items in the enquiry cart, or see the lab tender page.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can the feeders act as sources and loads?
Yes. The six lower-panel feeders are bi-directional, so each can be set as incoming or outgoing and connected to supply or load modules of the Power Systems range.
Is a computer needed to set the relays?
No. Relays can be set from their local control panel. A cable link to a suitable computer, using the included software, is optional; the computer is not included.
Who supplies the Switched Busbar Module?
It is supplied by Science Lab Supplies from Ambala, India, as a single module or as part of a complete power systems laboratory quotation.
What records do the relays keep?
The relays monitor and measure fault events and disturbances, giving students data for fault analysis after each test.
