Distribution Trainer

Distribution Trainer

Product Code : LSK-EPS-10524

Distribution Trainer (SKU LSK-EPS-10524) takes students through electrical power distribution, from basic feeder, ring main and radial circuits to balanced and unbalanced three-phase systems with transformers, lines and protection relays. It fits power distribution and protection practicals in B.Tech/B.E. and diploma electrical courses. Science Lab Supplies sends the trainer from its base in Ambala, India to universities, polytechnics, technical institutes, tender contractors and distributors.

Specifications

The console has two working sections. The upper panel covers distribution basics with low-voltage a.c. and d.c. supplies, lamps as loads and variable resistances as feeder cables. The lower panel covers three-phase distribution with two three-phase transformers, lines and loads. Both panels carry the necessary meters and protection relays.

Applications and Experiments for the Distribution Trainer

On the upper panel students wire feeders as ring main or radial circuits and see how voltage regulation changes with load. On the lower panel they build a three-phase distribution link with transformers and lines, apply faults and study how relays protect it.

  • Diploma and ITI Electrician training: ring main and radial circuit principles.
  • Voltage regulation along a feeder with low-voltage a.c. supplies.
  • B.Tech power systems lab: balanced and unbalanced three-phase distribution.
  • Earthing the star point and its effect on earth fault protection.

The lower panel works at mains-derived voltages; use it only under trained supervision.

Standard Scope of Supply

The trainer is supplied with both panels, the two three-phase transformers, lamps, variable resistances, meters, three protection relays with software for the programmable one, circuit-breakers and a set of shrouded leads. A computer for cable programming is provided by the user.

Packing, MOQ and Lead Time

One trainer or a group of them can be quoted. We state packing, delivery time and price for the quantity you specify, and load banks, relays or other test and measurement instruments in India from our range can go on the same quotation.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the two panels?
The upper panel teaches distribution basics with low-voltage supplies, lamps and resistances. The lower panel simulates industrial three-phase distribution with transformers, lines and loads.

How are the relays programmed?
The two simpler relays are set from their local control panels. The more complex relay is set locally or through a cable link to a suitable computer running the included software.

Who supplies the Distribution Trainer?
Science Lab Supplies supplies it from Ambala, India, to colleges and training institutes as well as tender contractors.

What voltage does the receive transformer give?
The line receive transformer steps the line voltage down to 110 V. Its primary tappings are adjustable and its secondary star point can be earthed.
