Isothermal Batch Reactor
Product Code : LSK-TWL-10823
Isothermal Batch Reactor (SKU LSK-TWL-10823) is a 2-litre stainless steel stirred reactor held in a temperature-controlled water bath, used to study a non-catalytic homogeneous reaction at constant temperature in a closed system. It is a standard kinetics rig in B.Tech and diploma chemical engineering labs. Science Lab Supplies manufactures it at its Plot 448, HSIIDC Industrial Area factory in Saha, Ambala, India, and supplies it direct to colleges, tender contractors and distributors.
Specifications
Specifications for the 2-litre isothermal batch reactor are given in the table below. In short, a 2-litre stainless steel reactor sits in a double-walled, ceramic-wool insulated stainless steel bath with a nichrome heater, held from ambient to 90 °C by a PID controller and RTD PT-100 sensor, with stirrers in both reactor and bath.

Applications and Experiments for the Isothermal Batch Reactor
Reactants are charged, stirred and held at a fixed bath temperature while samples are drawn by pipette at timed intervals. Because the reactor is isothermal, perfectly mixed and at constant volume, the concentration-time data give the reaction rate constant directly at each bath temperature.
- B.Tech/B.E. chemical engineering reaction engineering lab: batch kinetics.
- Determining reaction order and rate constant from concentration against time, timing samples on a Digital Stopwatch and titrating them from a Borosilicate Glass Burette 50ml.
- Repeating runs at different bath temperatures to study the effect of temperature, cross-checking the bath with a Glass Thermometer.
- Diploma chemical engineering practicals on batch reactors and PID temperature control.
Standard Scope of Supply
The set includes the 2-litre reactor, insulated water bath with nichrome heater, PID controller with RTD PT-100 sensor, two motor-driven stirrers, sampling pipette and the on/off switch with mains indicator. Instruments, glassware and chemicals for analysis depend on the reaction chosen and are not included.
Packing, MOQ and Lead Time
A quotation can be made for one reactor or a set for a full class. It states packing, delivery time and price for the quantity you ask for, and companion reactors can be added so one document covers the whole reaction engineering lab.
As a registered exporter with an Importer-Exporter Code, Science Lab Supplies can ship to buyers in Iraq, Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, Ethiopia and Tanzania. For the isothermal batch reactor, a quotation request can go through the contact page or the enquiry cart; for tendered lab orders, there is the lab tender page.
Frequently Asked Questions
What temperature range does the bath cover?
The water bath can be held from ambient up to 90 °C by the PID controller and RTD PT-100 sensor; the controller itself reads 0–199.9 °C.
What space and services are needed?
About 1.0 x 0.5 m of floor area, a single-phase 220 V earthed socket (earth voltage below 5 V), a water supply and a floor drain.
Is Science Lab Supplies the manufacturer or a trader?
Science Lab Supplies is the manufacturer. The reactor is made at its own factory in Saha, Ambala, India, and quotations come directly from the factory as engineering lab equipment made in India.
How does it differ from the continuous reactors?
A batch reactor is a closed system with no inlet or outlet streams during a run, so the rate is followed over time rather than at steady state.
