Organic Impurities Test Set
Product Code : LSK-CL-10592
Organic Impurities Test Set (SKU LSK-CL-10592) is a simple colour-comparison kit for checking fine aggregate, such as concrete sand, for organic compounds that can harm concrete. A sample is shaken with 3% sodium hydroxide solution in a graduated bottle, left for 24 hours and compared with a five-colour reference chart. The set is available with or without the reagent. Colleges, training centres, tender contractors and distributors can request it from Science Lab Supplies, an Ambala, India supplier of concrete laboratory equipment.
Specifications
Bottle, reagent and chart details of the organic impurities set appear in separate rows. In short, graduated oz/ml bottles with watertight screw-on caps hold the sand and 3% sodium hydroxide solution, a five-colour reference chart gives the comparison standard, and optional pellets make enough solution for more than 150 tests.

Applications and Experiments for the Organic Impurities Test Set
The set is used to screen sand and other fine aggregate for organic matter before it goes into concrete or mortar. If the liquid above the sample is darker than the reference colour, organic compounds may be present and further testing is needed. It is a standard aggregate test in civil engineering and construction-materials courses.
- B.Tech / B.E. civil engineering: organic impurities in fine aggregate.
- Diploma civil engineering: quality checks on concrete sand.
- TVET construction-materials courses: colour-comparison screening on sand reduced with the Sample Splitters (Riffle Boxes).
- Site laboratories: checks on incoming fine aggregate.
Shelf life depends on the chemical, its grade and storage conditions; ask us for the expiry date of the batch you are quoted. A laboratory that makes up its own solution can have Sodium Hydroxide Flakes quoted as a separate reagent.
Standard Scope of Supply
The set includes graduated test bottles with watertight screw caps and the five-colour colour reference chart, supplied with or without sodium hydroxide pellets as you specify. Individual components can also be quoted separately, which is useful for replacing bottles or buying more reagent.
Packing, MOQ and Lead Time
A quotation can cover a single set, spare bottles or reagent only, or several sets for a class, and it will state the packing, delivery time and price for exactly that. Other fine-aggregate equipment can be listed on the same quotation to build TVET workshop equipment for a materials course.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is sodium hydroxide included?
You can choose. The set is offered with or without sodium hydroxide reagent; when included, the pellets make enough 3% solution for more than 150 tests.
How is the result read?
After 24 hours the colour of the liquid above the sample is compared with the reference chart. A darker colour means organic compounds may be present and the aggregate should be tested further.
Is the reagent hazardous?
Yes. Sodium hydroxide is corrosive, so students should handle pellets and solution only under supervision with gloves and eye protection, and store it sealed and away from acids.
Who supplies the Organic Impurities Test Set?
It is supplied by Science Lab Supplies from Ambala, India. Quotations can be issued straight to colleges and institutes, or to the tender contractors and distributors who purchase laboratory equipment for them.
