Applications and Experiments for the VHF Mobile Station Kit
The kit fits a vehicle with a VHF radio that keeps drivers in contact with a base and with each other over narrow band FM. Programmable buttons, scanning and voice mail make daily operation simpler, while emergency, lone worker and emergency exit functions add protection for crews working alone.
- Working to a VHF control room built on the Base Station Kit, which offers the same stun, silent interrogate and phone patch functions.
- Diploma electronics and communication: FM transmission, channel spacing and selective signalling in a vehicle installation.
- ITI Electronics Mechanic and auto-electrical training: fused battery wiring and antenna fitting on a vehicle.
- Fleet, security and project vehicles needing regional group voice links; the HF Radio Mobile Kit covers longer distances.
The radio is regulated: most countries require an import licence and a frequency licence, so arrange both before shipment and installation.
Standard Scope of Supply
Each kit comprises the radio with display and full keypad microphone, battery cables, fuse, a mounting bracket, the fixed roof-mount antenna and antenna cable. Base stations, portable radios or extra antennas for the same net can be added to the quotation if required.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do we need a licence to import and use this radio?
Yes, in most countries. The kit is regulated and requires an import licence and a frequency licence. Check with your national telecom authority before ordering so the paperwork matches the delivery schedule.
Can the output power be reduced?
Yes. The radio delivers up to 25 W and is programmable from 1 to 25 W, so lower power can be set where range needs are short or interference must be limited.
What does the lone worker function do?
Lone worker is one of the safety signalling functions, alongside emergency calling and emergency exit, intended to raise an alert for a user working alone. Its programming is set up for your network.
Who supplies the Mobile Station Kit?
Science Lab Supplies is the supplying company for this VHF kit, operating from Ambala, India. Its quotation lists the mobile kits and any base or portable radios, along with packing and shipment details.
