Bench Top Tensile Testing Machine
Product Code : LSK-MTE-10505
Bench Top Tensile Testing Machine (SKU LSK-MTE-10505) is a small-scale, hand-operated machine for simple tensile tests on metal specimens up to a maximum load of 20 kN. It fits on a bench, so engineering colleges, polytechnics and technical institutes can run tensile practicals without a full-size UTM. Science Lab Supplies manufactures this tensile tester in its Saha, Ambala factory (Plot 448, HSIIDC Industrial Area, India) and sells it directly to institutions, tender contractors and distributors.
Specifications
An extruded aluminium bed, stiffened by tie bars, carries the load application and load measuring mechanisms. A handwheel drives a worm-and-wheel gearbox and lead screw with about 400 mm of travel, while a strain-gauged load cell feeds a digital display with peak hold. A sliding digital display measures extension.

Applications and Experiments for the Bench Top Tensile Testing Machine
Students pull specimens of different metals to failure, recording load and extension to draw load-extension curves and compare strength and ductility. The peak-hold display captures the maximum load before fracture, and the optional precision extensometer allows Young's modulus to be measured.
- B.E./B.Tech mechanical and civil: tensile test and stress-strain behaviour of steels, brass and aluminium.
- Materials science and metallurgy: comparing two carbon steel alloys with non-ferrous metals.
- Diploma engineering and TVET: hands-on tensile testing at bench scale.
Standard Scope of Supply
The machine comes with its load cell and digital load display, the sliding extension display, collet chucks for both long and short 20 mm² specimens, and a starter set of tensile specimens in two carbon steel alloys, brass and aluminium. Optional, not included: the precision extensometer.
Packing, MOQ and Lead Time
We quote for one machine or for several benches. Every quotation shows packing, delivery time and price for the quantity asked, and extra specimen sets, the extensometer or other test and measurement instruments in India from this range can be included on the same page.
Science Lab Supplies has an Importer-Exporter Code as a registered exporter and is able to ship to buyers in Bangladesh, Zambia, Rwanda, South Africa, Qatar and Sri Lanka. Frequently Asked Questions
What is the load capacity?
The machine performs tensile tests on metal specimens up to a maximum load of 20 kN, applied by hand through a worm-and-wheel gearbox and lead screw.
Which specimens come with it?
A starter set of tensile specimens made of two different carbon steel alloys, brass and aluminium. The collet chucks fit both the long and short styles of 20 mm² specimen.
Do you make this machine yourselves?
Yes. Science Lab Supplies manufactures the Bench Top Tensile Testing Machine at its own plant in Saha, Ambala, and quotes it to buyers without a distributor in between.
Can it do compression or hardness tests?
With the optional Compression Cage fitted in the tensile test area, it can run experiments that need a compressive load, including simple Brinell tests with the Brinell Hardness Test Set.
Related Tensile and Torsion Equipment
The first two items extend this machine into compression and hardness work. The Torsion Testing Machine is the natural partner for a bench-scale tensile and torsion lab, and the Universal Testing Machine suits groups that also test structures and building materials.
- Compression Cage — fits the tensile test area for compressive loads.
- Brinell Hardness Test Set — graticule magnifier and specimens used via the cage.
- Torsion Testing Machine — compact 60:1 worm-drive torsion tester.
- Universal Testing Machine — hydraulic tensile and compression frame.
