4 Stroke Petrol Engine
Product Code : LSK-E-10490
4 Stroke Petrol Engine (SKU LSK-E-10490) is a single-cylinder, four-stroke petrol engine adapted for education and built to run on the Small Engine Test Set, so students can load and test a real spark-ignition engine. Mechanical and automobile engineering departments, polytechnics and technical institutes use it in IC engine labs. It is supplied by Science Lab Supplies, Ambala, India, to colleges, training institutes, tender contractors and distributors.
Specifications
The engine is mounted on a sturdy precision bed plate whose dowels and slots align it accurately with the dynamometer test set, cutting the time needed to swap engines. It comes with an exhaust thermocouple, a half-coupling to the test set dynamometer and all essential hoses and fittings.

Applications and Experiments for the 4 Stroke Petrol Engine
Coupled to the test set dynamometer, the engine is run at different loads so that students can measure torque, work out brake power and compare their results with theory. The exhaust thermocouple adds exhaust temperature, which feeds heat-balance calculations when further ancillaries are used.
- B.Tech/B.E. mechanical: performance test of a four-stroke spark-ignition engine.
- Diploma automobile engineering: petrol engine operation and testing.
- Comparing petrol and diesel engine performance on the same test bed.
Petrol is highly flammable: keep the removable tank in a fuel locker when not in use, and run the engine only with exhaust extraction and trained supervision.
Standard Scope of Supply
The engine is supplied on its precision bed plate with the exhaust thermocouple, the half-coupling for the dynamometer, the colour-coded fuel tank with self-sealing couplings, and all essential hoses and fittings. The Small Engine Test Set itself is a separate item and is not included.
Packing, MOQ and Lead Time
Quotations can be for this engine alone or for a full test bench with its test set and ancillaries, and each one gives the packing, delivery time and price for what you list. The diesel engine can be added for comparison.
As a registered exporter with an Importer-Exporter Code, Science Lab Supplies can ship to buyers in Malaysia, Peru, Egypt, Iraq, Nigeria and Kenya. Please use the contact page or the enquiry cart for a quotation on this engineering lab equipment in India, and the lab tender page for tenders.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does the engine work without the Small Engine Test Set?
It is built for use with that test set: the bed plate locates on its bed and the half-coupling links to its dynamometer. The test set is quoted separately.
How is the fuel tank connected?
The colour-coded tank uses self-sealing couplings, so it connects and disconnects quickly with minimum loss or spillage of fuel. It can be removed for filling, and removing it also prevents unauthorised use.
Can it be swapped with the diesel engine?
Yes. Dowels and slots on the bed plate align the engine accurately with the dynamometer test set, which keeps the time spent replacing one engine with another to a minimum.
Who supplies the 4 Stroke Petrol Engine?
Science Lab Supplies supplies this engine from Ambala, India to engineering colleges, polytechnics and distributors, and lists any matching test set or ancillaries separately on the quotation.
Related Engine Laboratory Items
A petrol engine is one part of an engine test bench. These four items from the Engines range add the test bed it runs on, a diesel engine for comparison, and ancillaries for fuel use and exhaust heat, so the bench can be quoted as a whole.
