Archimedes' Principal Demonstration Set
Product Code : SCL-PL-12379
Archimedes' Principal Demonstration Set (SKU SCL-PL-12379) is a complete buoyancy kit for verifying Archimedes' principle: that the upthrust on an immersed body equals the weight of liquid it displaces. Matched cylinders and blocks, a triple-beam balance, glassware and a support stand let students weigh, immerse and compare. It fits Class 9 physics and college fluid-mechanics labs. Science Lab Supplies manufactures and packs the set at Plot 448, HSIIDC Industrial Area, Saha, Ambala, India, supplying schools, colleges, tender contractors and distributors directly.
Specifications
The test bodies are three cylinders of aluminium, brass and plastic, each Ø2.2 × 6.4 cm, with the plastic less dense than water; two blocks, aluminium and brass, each equal in mass to the aluminium cylinder; and one irregular aluminium shape.

Applications and Experiments for the Archimedes' Principle Demonstration Set
Students weigh each body in air and in water, find the loss of weight, and compare it with the weight of water displaced into the beakers. Equal-volume cylinders of different metals show that upthrust depends on volume, not mass, while the equal-mass blocks show the reverse case.
- Class 9 science: verification of Archimedes' principle, buoyancy and relative density.
- Floating and sinking: the plastic cylinder, less dense than water, against the metal cylinders.
- Density of regular solids from caliper dimensions and balance mass, and of the irregular body by displacement.
Standard Scope of Supply
Each set contains the three cylinders, two blocks and irregular aluminium body, the large container, the wide-base support with 45 cm stainless-steel rod, strong cord, a triple-beam balance with masses, a stainless-steel caliper, 1000 ml and 100 ml beakers, a 50 ml graduated cylinder and the activity manual and experiment guide.
Packing, MOQ and Lead Time
Quotations are issued for anything from one demonstration set to a set for each group in a class. Science Lab Supplies gives the packing, delivery time and price for your chosen number, and density or pressure apparatus for the same unit of work can be quoted alongside.
With its Importer-Exporter Code, Science Lab Supplies is a registered exporter able to ship to buyers in Qatar, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Malaysia, Peru and Egypt. Send your requirement through the contact page or the enquiry cart, and read the lab tender page for tender supply.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why are the blocks equal in mass to the aluminium cylinder?
The brass block has the same mass as the aluminium cylinder but a much smaller volume, so students can show that bodies of equal mass receive different upthrust, proving that buoyancy depends on displaced volume, not mass.
Is a balance included?
Yes. The set includes a triple-beam balance with masses, plus a stainless-steel caliper, beakers of 1000 ml and 100 ml and a 50 ml graduated cylinder, so weighing and volume measurements can be made with items from the set itself.
Is Science Lab Supplies the manufacturer or a trader?
Science Lab Supplies is the manufacturer and makes up this set at its factory in Saha, Ambala, India. Quotations are sent from the factory, so you deal with the maker directly.
Related Density and Fluid Apparatus
Buoyancy links closely to density and fluid pressure. These four items extend the Archimedes experiments into density measurement and pressure in liquids, forming a fuller properties-of-matter bench for school physics, and they can be listed together with the set on one quotation.
- Metal Density Cubes — density comparison of different metals.
- Apparatus for Measuring the Density of Solids — density measurement practicals.
- Metal Cylinders — extra test bodies for weighing and immersion.
- Pascal's Law Demonstrator — pressure transmission in liquids.
