Consolidation Apparatus
Product Code : LSK-SM-10656
Consolidation Apparatus (SKU LSK-SM-10656), also called an oedometer, measures how a saturated clay compresses over time under step-by-step vertical loading. Results give the compression index and coefficient of consolidation used to estimate foundation settlement. Geotechnical labs in engineering colleges, polytechnics and TVET institutes use it for one-dimensional consolidation tests. Science Lab Supplies takes enquiries for the outfit at Ambala, India and supplies it to colleges, institutes, tender contractors and distributors.
Specifications
Loading unit, oedometer cell and weight set are itemised row by row in the table. Summarising, a yoke on a 1:1 counterbalanced lever arm, on a steel frame stand rated to 20 kg/cm², loads a fixed ring cell for 60 mm x 20 mm specimens with porous stones, pressure pad, water jacket and reservoir.

Applications and Experiments for the Consolidation Apparatus
The apparatus runs the one-dimensional consolidation test on clay: load increments are applied and held while settlement is read against time. Students plot void ratio against pressure, and settlement against time, to find the compression index and coefficient of consolidation in degree, diploma and TVET geotechnical practicals.
- B.E./B.Tech civil engineering: one-dimensional consolidation test and settlement calculation, after classifying the clay with the Hand Operated Casagrande Equipment.
- M.Tech geotechnical labs: consolidation parameters for foundation design.
- Diploma civil engineering: demonstrating consolidation and settlement of clay, with final water content found in the Laboratory Bench Oven.
Standard Scope of Supply
The standard outfit comprises the lever loading unit on its stand, the fixed ring cell with all parts listed above, and the weight set. It is supplied without dial gauge; a 0.002 mm x 10 mm dial gauge, a 40 mm extension piece and pads of 50 consolidation test forms are optional accessories.
Packing, MOQ and Lead Time
You may request a quotation for one outfit or several for a geotechnical lab; each one shows packing, delivery time and price for that quantity. The optional dial gauge and test forms, or other vocational training equipment for soil testing, can be added to it.
As a registered exporter with an Importer-Exporter Code, Science Lab Supplies can ship to buyers in Oman, the Philippines, Nepal, Bangladesh, Zambia and Rwanda. Science Lab Supplies is registered for GST (GSTIN 06ADEPJ0574F2ZU). State whether the optional dial gauge and test forms should be priced when writing on the contact page, or tick them off in the enquiry cart; university tenders are explained on the lab tender page.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is a dial gauge included with the Consolidation Apparatus?
No. The outfit is supplied complete but without dial gauge. A 0.002 mm x 10 mm dial gauge is offered as an optional accessory, with a 40 mm extension piece.
What pressure does the weight set give?
Up to 10 kg/cm² on a 60 mm specimen, built from 0.05 to 1.0 kg/cm² increments. The loading unit itself is rated to 20 kg/cm².
Can other cell sizes be used?
Yes. The loading unit is designed for consolidation cells of different diameters, including floating ring cells; the standard outfit includes the 60 mm fixed ring cell.
Who supplies the Consolidation Apparatus?
This oedometer outfit is supplied by Science Lab Supplies, a TVET lab equipment supplier in Ambala, India. Optional accessories such as the dial gauge and test form pads can be quoted on the same document.
