Pyrometer
Product Code : LSK-H-11155
Pyrometer (SKU LSK-H-11155) is an all-metal school apparatus for comparing the thermal expansion of different metals. It carries an engraved scale, three test rods of different metals and its own spirit furnace to heat them, so students can see that equal heating does not lengthen every metal by the same amount. It suits heat lessons in middle school and Class 11 physics. Science Lab Supplies manufactures the pyrometer at Plot 448, HSIIDC Industrial Area, Saha, Ambala, India, and sells it directly to schools, colleges and distributors.
Specifications
The pyrometer's specification is short, and each point is listed in the table. In summary, the whole apparatus is made of metal, it has an engraved scale for reading results, and it is supplied with three test rods of different metals and a spirit furnace as the heat source.

Applications and Experiments for the Pyrometer
A test rod is fitted, the spirit furnace is lit beneath it, and the expansion is followed against the engraved scale; the test is then repeated with the other two rods. Comparing the results shows that each metal expands by its own amount for the same heating.
- Class 7–8 science: solids expand when heated and contract on cooling.
- Class 11 physics: introducing the idea that each material has its own coefficient of linear expansion, before measuring one with a steam-jacket apparatus.
- Linking unequal expansion to the curving of a Bimetallic Strip and to thermostats and expansion gaps.
Fill and light the spirit furnace only under teacher supervision, keep the fuel bottle well away from the flame, and let the rods cool before handling. A separate burner such as the Brass Spirit Lamp 100ml can serve as a spare heat source.
Standard Scope of Supply
The pyrometer is supplied as a complete all-metal unit with its engraved scale, three test rods of different metals and the spirit furnace. Spirit fuel is not included and must be obtained locally; extra spirit lamps or tongs can be added to the same quotation if required.
Packing, MOQ and Lead Time
Let us know whether you need one pyrometer for demonstrations or a number for group practicals. Science Lab Supplies replies with a quotation that fixes packing, delivery time and price for that quantity, and other heat apparatus can be added to it.
Science Lab Supplies can ship to buyers in Kenya, Ghana, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Uganda and the UAE, as it holds an Importer-Exporter Code. Reach the sales team using the contact page, or submit your list through the enquiry cart; for public tenders, the lab tender page sets out how to proceed.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this an electronic temperature pyrometer?
No. This is the traditional school pyrometer that compares how metal rods expand when heated by a spirit furnace. It does not measure temperature electronically and has no sensor or display.
Which metals are the test rods made of?
The set contains three rods, each of a different metal. If your syllabus or tender names particular metals, ask through the contact page and the rod metals will be confirmed on your quotation.
Is the fuel included?
The spirit furnace is included, but the spirit itself is not, since flammable liquids are normally bought locally. Store fuel in a closed container away from the flame and refill only when the furnace is cold.
Is Science Lab Supplies the manufacturer or a trader?
Science Lab Supplies is the manufacturer. The metal frame, rods and furnace are made at its Saha, Ambala works, and quotations are issued by that same factory without a trading intermediary.
