Induction Coils with Cores
Product Code : SCL-PL-12378
Induction Coils with Cores (SKU SCL-PL-12378) are copper-wound coils supplied with cores for electromagnetism and electromagnetic induction experiments, rated for a current of 5 A. They let students produce a magnetic field inside a coil, study the effect of a core and demonstrate Faraday's law in school and college physics. Science Lab Supplies winds and assembles the coils at its factory at Plot 448, HSIIDC Industrial Area, Saha, Ambala, India, and sells them straight to schools, colleges, distributors and tender contractors.
Specifications
Each coil is wound from copper wire around a hollow centre. When a current of up to 5 A passes through the winding, it sets up a uniform magnetic field inside the hollow, and a core placed there changes the field strength, which is how students compare air-cored and cored coils.

Applications and Experiments for the Induction Coils with Cores
Moving a magnet or switching a current near a coil induces an EMF, and a meter connected to the coil shows it. With and without the core, students can see how a core concentrates the field, estimate magnetic permeability and explore Faraday's law, a standard part of electricity and magnetism lab kits for schools and colleges.
- Class 10 science: magnetic field of a current-carrying coil and electromagnetic induction.
- Class 12 physics: Faraday's law, Lenz's law and mutual induction between two coils.
- B.Sc. practicals: effect of a core and estimation of magnetic permeability.
- Diploma and ITI electrical trades: basics of electromagnets and transformers.
Standard Scope of Supply
The supply comprises the induction coils together with their cores. The number of coils and cores in each set is confirmed on the quotation. A power supply, galvanometer or meter, magnets and connecting leads are separate items and can be added to the same quotation if you need them.
Packing, MOQ and Lead Time
Request a quotation for one set for class demonstration, or several for student groups working on induction. Science Lab Supplies lists the packing, delivery time and price for that quantity, and meters, magnets or a supply for the induction practicals can be added in the same enquiry.
Science Lab Supplies holds an Importer-Exporter Code and, as a registered exporter, can ship to buyers in South Africa, Qatar, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Malaysia and Peru. To ask for a price, use the enquiry cart or contact page; tender enquiries are explained on the lab tender page.
Frequently Asked Questions
What current can the coils take?
The Induction Coils with Cores are rated for 5 A. Feed them from a regulated supply, include an ammeter or rheostat to keep the current within 5 A, and switch off when not taking readings.
Why are the coils supplied with cores?
Inserting a core changes the magnetic field inside the coil, so students can compare air-cored and cored coils, see the effect on induced EMF and estimate the core's magnetic permeability.
Is Science Lab Supplies the manufacturer or a trader?
The coils are made by Science Lab Supplies itself, at its factory in Saha, Ambala, India. It is a manufacturer, and your quotation comes from the same place the coils are wound.
Related Electromagnetic Induction Apparatus
Induction practicals combine coils with a sensitive meter, a direction-of-current demonstration and a transformer that applies the same principle. These four items build a complete induction bench for school and college physics and can be quoted together with the coils.
