Centrifugal Pump Test Set
Product Code : LSK-FM-10435
Centrifugal Pump Test Set (SKU LSK-FM-10435) is a compact, mobile and fully self-contained rig with which students find the characteristics of a centrifugal pump, watch and hear cavitation, and measure flow with a Venturi meter. It is aimed at fluid machinery practicals in mechanical, civil and chemical engineering degrees and diplomas. Science Lab Supplies manufactures the set in Saha, Ambala, India (Plot 448, HSIIDC Industrial Area) and deals directly with institutions, tender contractors and distributors.
Specifications
A bearing-mounted motor drives the pump, which draws water from an integral reservoir. An electronic Motor Drive sets pump speed, a strain gauge load cell measures driving torque and a sensor measures speed; the drive's display shows both and calculates true shaft power. Flow rate comes from the Venturi differential pressure.

Applications and Experiments for the Centrifugal Pump Test Set
The set is used to plot centrifugal pump characteristics under different operating conditions, created with the adjustable inlet and delivery valves, and to show cavitation through the pump window. It also teaches Venturi flow measurement and lets students compare analogue and digital pressure readings side by side.
- B.Tech / B.E. fluid machinery lab: head, power and efficiency against flow.
- Cavitation study: throttling the inlet until vapour bubbles form at the impeller.
- Diploma and TVET pump maintenance courses: effect of speed on performance.
Standard Scope of Supply
The test set comes as one self-contained unit: centrifugal pump with viewing window, bearing-mounted motor, integral reservoir, valves and filter, Venturi meter, and the instrument frame with Motor Drive and display. The stroboscope is optional; the analogue or digital pressure display and data acquisition option are confirmed item by item on the quotation.
Packing, MOQ and Lead Time
Whether you need a single test set or several for a fluid mechanics lab, ask and the quotation will list packing, delivery time and price for exactly that quantity. Other engineering lab equipment in India from this range can be priced alongside it.
Science Lab Supplies holds an Importer-Exporter Code and can ship to buyers in Saudi Arabia, Oman, the Philippines, Nepal, Bangladesh and Zambia. Your enquiry can go in through the contact page or the enquiry cart, and public-sector buyers will find tender details on the lab tender page.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can students see cavitation on this rig?
Yes. The pump has a transparent window, so students see the impeller turning and the vapour bubbles that form at cavitation, and they can hear it. An optional stroboscope makes the effect easier to see.
How is shaft power measured?
A strain gauge load cell measures driving torque and a sensor measures speed. The Motor Drive display shows both and automatically calculates true shaft power.
Does the test set need a mains water supply?
No. Water circulates from the integral reservoir through the pump and Venturi meter and back again, which keeps water consumption to a minimum.
Is Science Lab Supplies the manufacturer or a trader?
A manufacturer. The rig is assembled at its own plant in Saha, Ambala, India, and prices are quoted by the manufacturer without a middleman.
Related Pump Test Equipment
Centrifugal pump practicals are often extended with a pressure display, multi-pump rigs and a cavitation unit. These four Fluid Mechanics items cover those next steps and can be quoted together with the test set.
- Analogue Pressure Display — three Bourdon gauges for inlet, delivery and Venturi pressure.
- Two-Stage Series And Parallel Pumps — two pumps working alone, in series or in parallel.
- Variable Speed Series and Parallel Pumps — one variable speed and one fixed speed pump.
- Cavitation in a Venturi — mobile unit for the causes and effects of cavitation.
